You confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you are acting on behalf of a third party, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.
3. Services Provided
Horophile offers the following Services:
- Condition Assessment & Report: a hands-on examination of a Piece with a written condition note. This Service does not include any physical work on the Piece.
- Sympathetic Servicing: cleaning, lubrication, and regulation of a mechanical movement, performed with an emphasis on preserving originality.
- Museum-Grade Restoration: an extended, documented restoration including part fabrication where necessary, carried out on significant or rare Pieces.
Services are available to clients based in Thailand and to clients sending Pieces from abroad. The scope of each Service is agreed in writing before work begins. No Service will commence without written confirmation from the Client.
4. Commissioning a Service
A Service is commissioned through the following process:
- The Client contacts Horophile by email, telephone, or through the Website contact form.
- Horophile issues a written condition assessment and proposes a scope of work and price.
- The Client confirms in writing (by email or signed document) that they wish to proceed.
- Work begins only after this written confirmation is received.
For Museum-Grade Restoration projects, additional agreement may be sought at significant stages during the work. No stage will proceed without the Client's written approval.
5. Ownership and Responsibility for Pieces
By entrusting a Piece to Horophile, the Client confirms that they are the lawful owner of the Piece or have the owner's explicit permission to commission the Service.
Horophile accepts responsibility for the safekeeping of Pieces while on workshop premises. Pieces are photographed on intake and tracked through the service process.
Risk of loss or damage during postal transit to or from the workshop remains with the Client. We can advise on suitable packaging and transit insurance, but we do not accept liability for pieces lost or damaged in transit.
6. Pricing and Payment
Prices are quoted in Thai Baht (THB). Current indicative prices are:
- Condition Assessment & Report: ฿3,700
- Sympathetic Servicing: ฿14,600
- Museum-Grade Restoration: from ฿35,000 (scope and final price agreed before work begins)
Additional parts or fabrication work will be itemised separately and agreed with the Client before any such work is undertaken. Final invoices will reflect only work that was agreed in advance.
Payment is due on collection or return of the Piece. Horophile may request a deposit before commencing Museum-Grade Restoration projects. Accepted payment methods will be confirmed at the time of commissioning.
7. Timelines
Estimated timelines are provided at the time of assessment and are given in good faith. They may be affected by parts availability, the complexity of work discovered during the service, or other reasonable factors. Horophile will communicate any significant change to an estimated timeline promptly.
We do not undertake to complete any Service by a fixed date unless this has been explicitly agreed in writing.
8. Cancellation
A Client may cancel a commissioned Service before work has commenced. In this case, no charge will be made except for any Condition Assessment already completed.
Once a Service has commenced, the Client may pause or terminate it by written notice. Horophile will invoice for the work completed to the point of cancellation, at a rate proportional to the agreed price.
Horophile may decline to accept or continue a commission if, in its professional judgement, the requested work would be harmful to the Piece or is outside the workshop's competence.

11. Uncollected Pieces

After 12 months, and following written notice, Horophile may consider the Piece abandoned and exercise any legal remedies available under Thai law.
